This project was made within the course Italian Design Way in Politecnico di Milano. The aim of this project was to create a chair following the values of one of the Italian furniture brands, in this case, Magis.
Built in curved oak, hence the name that refers to its shape, Curvy stands out for its versatility, ergo- nomics, shape and beauty. Its ability to adapt to different occasions, thanks to the movement of its backrest and its lightness, make it unique among Magis products. The organic shapes of its arms, legs and seat adapt perfectly to the seated person, providing maximum comfort.
The chair interacts with those who use it, depending on how the person sits on it. This interaction is capable thanks to the movement of the backrest created by the weight of the person sitting. The bac- krest adapts to the situation: when the person wants to sit more straight, the angle of the backrest is smaller. When the person wants to be relaxed, the angle is bigger. The movement occurs thanks to a mechanism created by a system of hinges and rails.
